New York FELT one.

Last night, New York didn’t just watch a basketball game.

New York FELT one.

Cross cultures. Across economic lines. Every borough, every block, every person who has ever called this city home – the spirit showed up hard.

⛹️And when it was over, Mike Brown said what the rest of us couldn’t find words for:

“This team has been about adversity. We are resilience and connectivity. And this was our time to see if we are connected as a team and how we handle a moment like this.”

🏆Boom.

That’s a winning coach talking.

That’s New York talking.

🏅Because resilience and connectivity: that IS the spirit of this place. You don’t learn it. You absorb it. Walking these streets. Fighting for your seat at the table. Getting knocked down and getting back up because what else are you going to do? This is New York.

Last night was the hardest I’ve felt the heartbeat of this city in a long time.

It was poetic. Like getting struck by lightning.

New York isn’t a place. It’s a spirit.

And last night that spirit entered every single one of us.

So the question is: what are you going to do with all that electricity?

Make it count.
